For separation of natural stones from roots to be processed

  • The system is operating continuously with separation of natural stones from vegetables/roots ensuring no damaging of following equipment like washers, peelers and slicer/dicers.
  • The system uses the flow capacity of the product to separate natural stone / soil and product.
  • Stone, sand/soil can be removed manually through a large trap/door after operation or alternatively can be removed continuously by means of a built in elevator into the water buffer tank.

All lose stones, sand/gravel and soil will be separated from product – however stones grown into the root might not be catch.


From 6.000 kg/h up to 16.000 kg/h depending on diameter.


  • The total machine pipe, screw, buffer-water tank and parts are manufactured either in stainless steel or in food prof plastic material.
  • The machine is designed with a vertical pipe of the diameter mentioned above positioned in a buffer-tank containing water.
  • Inside the vertical pipe the machine is equipped with one rotary screw fitting to the pipe diameter.
  • The screw is not touching the bottom, but starts app. 300 mm from the bottom thus avoiding to pick up natural stones.
  • The screw is at the bottom connected to the buffer-water tank by water lubricated maintenance free screw bearing.
  • By buffer water tank equipped with stone/sand removal elevator the elevator is manufactured with frame of stainless steel and belt of heavy duty rubber quality with rib-driving- and idle drums of stainless steel.
  • Water Buffer-Tank is equipped with overflow pipe, draining valve and large cleaning trap/door.


  • One gearmotor placed at the top of the vertical pipe connected to the screw by means of a chain drive system.
  • Motor can be connected to a frequency inverter for change of screw speed against extra cost.
