Introducing the RDT

We have been working on the RDT for years. With more than 150 years of combined experience in the food and pet industry, we have designed a machine that takes your wet pet food production to the next level. At our office in the center of Denmark, we call it groundbreaking in terms of innovation and possible profitability.

Unlike other pet food machinery, the RDT transforms emulsified meat into textured, fibrous, meat-like products through the precise coagulation of proteins and carbohydrates. Combining mechanical rotation and thermal energy, the RDT sets a new standard for industry efficiency, quality, and sustainability.

Transform by-products into premium chunks with the RDT

Rising raw material costs are a significant challenge for pet food manufacturers. Prime cuts for high-end products are expensive and scarce, while by-products and low-value cuts are often used for low-margin products like flour or oil.

The RDT changes this dynamic by enabling manufacturers to repurpose by-products into premium-quality pet food pets love—without relying on costly prime cuts.

Making pet food production more sustainable

Based in Denmark, DANA Technology has revolutionized the processing of raw materials and by-products, such as poultry and fish trimmings, turning them into high-quality, meat-like chunks that pets love.

Vagn Hansen, CEO of DANA, explains: “Our RDT allows manufacturers to transform by-products into high-quality products that meet the growing demand for sustainability and profitability in the pet food industry—and it is a way to increase profit from day one.”

Benefits of the RDT

How the RDT works

RDT technology is based on the principles of pressing, rotating, turning, and heating. The process involves transferring mechanical and thermal energy into a meat emulsion to coagulate the protein and any potential carbohydrate sources.

The RDT minimizes energy consumption while maximizing output

Indirect steam heating for processing ensures no direct steam escape and precise temperature control with minimal environmental impact. The automated cleaning system saves time and labor costs.

Advanced temperature control

The RDT features zone-specific temperature control, enabling precise heating adjustments for diverse recipes and formulations. This ensures consistent product quality across all production runs.

Process different kinds of raw materials

The RDT efficiently processes various raw materials, including poultry, pork, beef, fish, and machine-separated meat, making it the ideal choice for diverse production needs.

Cleaning and hygiene

The built-in CIP (Clean-In-Place) system prioritizes fast, automatic, thorough cleaning while reducing manual work. After CIP cleaning, the RDT features automatic opening of the top disc to allow quick, hassle-free access to inspection and final cleaning.

Compliance with food regulations

Built with food-grade components, the RDT meets all necessary food processing standards, giving manufacturers confidence in its safety and quality.

Fully adjustable

The RDT’s control panel allows complete customization of parameters, including product flow, temperature, and rotation speed. This flexibility enables manufacturers to create a variety of textures tailored to your specific needs.
